I created this animation as a campaign for Flowering Design. It demonstrates our techniques for maximizing business exposure with branding, web development, social presence and SEO. We designed this concept to market ourselves and in turn we would like to market others. By placing a well thought out piece of content on your website we can target market to any social network by specifically and precisely marketing your content to drive traffic wherever we want it to go. This animation may show up on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, Tumblr and several other places. We will be placing the code for this video that is tagged and keyword optimized on Youtube, our networks and linking directly to our site. http://floweringdesign.com. The end result of these tactics for our company or any company is that it will improve the google ranking with consistent effort.

This animation took 3 weeks to develop. It was done entirely in Flash. Within this 3 week period and 32 .fla files I was able to find a converter that was able to produce a perfectly rendered video with Flash. As far as I have seen since I started using Flash in 2002 no converter or export method has been available or capable of exporting movie clips within the flash timeline well enough for my style of animation. Shape tweens and many other techniques were not interpolated very well. I used the Mac SWF Video Converter. With that said I feel as long as Adobe continues to develop Flash as a vector animation tool and Youtube maintains the platform for video. Flash is not dead.

Vintage graphic design

Here is a great website on vintage logos from the 1950s. Some of the designs have stood the test of time. Some fade away. And some morph on version after version. Keeping these things a-new! Some of these logos are still being used today. Now that is an accomplishment.

I was having a little fun with my prized Ray Ban Wayfarer. Just thought I’d spend a minute or 2 and take some shots.

User Experience is the process of developing and designing a layout of a website (it can be social network, email blasts, advertising, mobile interface) that the visitor, client or public interacts with. The User Experience can be the physical clicking, viewing and requesting or tempting the user to act/interact with the design. It may capture or share data, images or messages. It is a concept based on aesthetics, research and intention and hoping to visually stimulate the user. I would even go so far to say that User Experience may constitute social media marketing, email correspondence and basic marketing which delivers the user/client to the web content.
Interaction Design are the features of the site, the mechanics of the movements and how data and information are transferred, collected, captured, tracked or information is distributed to or from the client/user.
Web design is the layout of images and content to display a given, topic, idea, product or service on a web platform. Anyone can web design. With the rise and ease of technology there are platforms with which anyone to publish information to the web. There are those that have the training and experience to develop for the web with specific aesthetic in layout, illustration, color theory, typography and formal art training. And there are those that are just pushing out information.
User Experience is the period of time when a user interacts with a web or interactive interface. Interaction Design is specific programming with visuals and content which may achieve information or create a give and take type of engagement. A great User Experience implicates a comfortable or successful interaction with said web site, information, messaging, presence, data transaction or messaging.

What does good user experience mean to you?

The most important skill I have learned as a UX Designer is to be able to question what the user will see. Learn to ask and answer every possible question that a user of your design will encounter. Ideally you want the design to work, but functionality is extremely important. Being able to foresee problems with the functionality and knowing that the user/client will understand the design/interface without much thinking. If you continuously question and discover every possible facet of what you are creating… hopefully all questions will be discovered, discussed and analyzed to create a great design, great interaction with the user and a great experience that will be repeated if needed. One thing that is very important is bridging great design and great experience.
